Message for Language Stars’ parents

02/28/2018- Blog

We were sorry to learn Language Stars announced the closure of their business earlier this month. Our businesses were both founded in the North Shore in the same year, 1998. Although our methodologies differ, the French School shares a common goal—to teach children a foreign language. We believe multilingual children are better prepared as they grow up and develop a broader perspective of the world and have greater cultural awareness and understanding. In fact, numerous studies demonstrate multilingual children experience a multitude of benefits.

A total immersion program is the most effective way to learn a foreign language because language proficiency is directly related to the frequency and intensity of exposure to a language. In addition to our immersion preschool and kindergarten that meets five days a week, we also offer after-school programs for elementary aged students as well as a mom and tot program for the youngest language learners.

As the only language immersion preschool in the North Shore of Chicago, our native French-speaking teachers and small class sizes enable teachers to focus attention on each child and tailor the curriculum to the individual abilities of students.

Based on the national curriculum taught in France, the French School’s comprehensive curriculum is revered as one of the world’s best and offers a solid academic foundation while providing a warm, nurturing environment where learning is fun and age appropriate.

Like Language Stars, we serve families all over the North Shore of Chicago, including, Evanston, Kenilworth, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Highland Park, Northbrook, Deerfield, and Glenview.

While it may be sad when a chapter closes, the next chapter may bring a new opportunity.
